Some mental health struggles become apparent in childhood.

These little people have a lot to manage as they move through their young lives. I find that much of the concerning negative behaviors kids exhibit, leading to therapy, are often their way of coping with complex emotions. Kids are capable of developing emotional and behavioral health and mindfulness. It is exciting for me to be part of this journey with them.

Certain mental health struggles become apparent in childhood. Children can experience depression, trouble with attention or concentration, anxiety and other difficulties. I am able to help decipher what the next best step is for you and your child, whether that be therapy with me or another provider. I am familiar with great referral sources for specialists if that is what seems necessary.

Family changes, such as a divorce or a move, may cause children to need additional support. A space for them to process outside of the family gives them a freedom, as children often care take their caregivers, sacrificing their emotional needs so as not to upset the balance.

I enjoy working with parents and primary caregivers as they learn ways to adapt their caregiving styles to serve the family effectively. I appreciate children for their honesty and innocence. I respect their vulnerability. I enjoy learning about their struggles, pain, joys and tailoring our work to their developmental level.
